The Wasila Fellowship recognizes volunteers who dedicate their time to strengthening the community through service, mentorship, and leadership. Through meaningful volunteer work, participants create real impact while building pathways toward education and opportunity.

This program recognizes volunteers who dedicate their time to supporting families, improving access to employment, and strengthening community programs through structured service.

  • Service Requirement: 400–500 hours

  • Award:
    $1,000 Scholarship

  • Purpose:
    Entry-level fellowship recognizing impactful service.

Nana Asma’u Leadership Scholarship


  • Service Requirement: 1,000 hours

  • Award:
    $5,000 Scholarship

  • Purpose:
    Recognizes sustained leadership and community impact.

How the Program Works

  • Volunteers participate in USEF programs, outreach initiatives, and community service projects.

  • Participants serve as case counselors, helping individuals or families navigate employment, education, and social services.

  • Through sustained service and leadership, volunteers become eligible for fellowship and scholarship recognition.

The Case Counselor Model

A core component of the program is personalized community support. Volunteers are paired with individuals or families who need structured assistance navigating employment, education, or community resources.

  • Resume building, job search guidance, interview preparation.

  • Helping families access education, financial literacy, and social services.

  • Participation in zakat programs, outreach events, and workshops.
